The Be an Engineer Program is a great way to introduce middle school students to the world of engineering. The program brings together a variety of speakers (from engineering college students to current engineers) who share with middle school students some of the exciting aspects of their careers and the paths they took to get there. Through interactive, hands-on activities, students are exposed to the crucial role that science, mathematics, technology, and engineering play in their daily lives. The program also highlights the connections between the middle school curriculum and future careers in engineering. In partnership with the ACE Mentor Program, NACME has sponsored a pilot of the Be an Engineer program at middle schools located in Dallas, TX, Philadelphia, PA, Los Angeles, CA, and Kansas City, MO.
