AT&T Foundation Awards $144,000 to incoming Academies of Engineering
The AT&T Foundation announced that six of the eighteen schools currently in the second cohort of Academies of Engineering (AOEs)
will receive $12,000 per year from AT&T through the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME). AT&T has
committed to support the school's initial two years in the Academy of Engineering program. The funding is part of a $300,000
contribution to NACME to support learning communities of underrepresented minority, at-risk students focused on improving skills
in math and science.
The Academy of Engineering model is a partnership between the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering, the National Academy Foundation and Project Lead The Way.
