As part of its leadership activities, NACME has created close
working partnerships with organizations that are also
interested in increasing the pool of minority engineers in
America. Here is an introduction to NACME’s key partners.
National Academy Foundation (NAF)
-
The National Academy Foundation creates
partnerships between business leaders and
educators that have been transforming students’
lives for more than 20 years. Through an
innovative educational model, NAF’s small public
school-based “learning communities” empower
high school students to successfully go on to
higher education, professions of their choosing,
and active community participation. Themed
academies that NAF has developed include the
Academy of Hospitality & Tourism, the Academy
of Finance, and the Academy of Information Technology.
Project Lead The Way (PLTW)

Project Lead The Way is a national not-for-profit
organization that provides schools with curricula
in the science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics (STEM) areas. Its pre-engineering
program is offered in more than 2,000 middle and
high school in 49 states and the District of
Columbia. The program consist of eight rigorous
and relevant high school courses. PLTW is also
launching a new biomedical sciences curriculum
for high schools. PLTW provides intensive
professional development for classroom
instructors and school counselors. The PLTW
pre-engineering curriculum will be used in the
Academies of Engineering.
Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE
Mentor Program)-
The ACE Mentor Program was founded by the
principals of leading design and construction firms
to introduce high school students to career
opportunities in the industry.
Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement
(MESA)-
One of the country’s most innovative and
successful programs, MESA works with
thousands of educationally disadvantaged
students to help them excel in math and science
and graduate with math-based degrees.
Guaranteed 4.0-
This Dallas-based educational consulting firm
specializes in a dynamic framework of learning.
Guaranteed 4.0 encourages academic excellence
and professional growth—both in and out of a
formal educational system.
The Princeton Review

The Princeton Review helps students, parents,
and educators achieve the best outcomes at all
stages of students’ educational careers. It starts
with a single premise: Everyone is entitled to the
best education. Through years of research, the
Princeton Review has learned to use practice and
preparation to help students improve their
performance. The Princeton Review partnered
with NACME to produce The NACME Guide to Engineering Colleges.
